Sirens screech the blue hours nearer
and the night wears dark glasses
testing the emptiness with a red-tipped cane.
It is spring again and the rains have
come with a raw hunger that is seeded
time within the hourglass of space and light.
Sometimes I am encased in a hollow shell
sometimes I just yearn to fly.
