alley of taboos

Post by revolutionrabbit » November 25th, 2012, 1:33 am

you came to me like a good luck charm
with that come hither look
from St. James Infirmary
you had a novel called The Unfortunate
the stolen rain in your eyes
began to light up in the windows of the east
strange sentences began to wander
across my mind like endless passages
the meaning of the universe
in some passing utterance
she was coming out of an alley of taboos

the tattoo of snaking dark openings
torn black nylon just above the milky flesh of dawn
drunk memories passed out as the stars wink out
naked dreams talking to the last song on the radio
some little ditty about a crucified clown
tears of moonlight from the random floozy

Great chimerical negatives
walk the nucleotide
we have only to lose our selves
in the general chaos of eternity
that we wandered in the colossal insanity
that our revolutions were of the 8
the spelling is eight captured our hearts
only to lose our heads in the reign of terror
hallucination history for all time

the lily white buttocks of the whipped thought
lightly sound her signature of pleasure measure
her lovely ruins of huge eyes of poetry stripped
that we should lose our sense of direction gypped
that we should lose our senses in the nonsense
that we should have tripped in the snake swallowing
its own tail of tales & supernatural terrors and other
superstitions

we forget remember the capsized dragon here be
that we should get so close only to be so far out
that we meditate between here and there now and
then that which is not this or that not found or lost
you tossed me your pearls of wisdom as you left me
I followed you from life to life city to city end to end
the earth book closes its cover we are somewhere inside
this treasure pain that we gained through the turn pages
all the world stages mazes phases rages mage mother of all
a golden kiss you once placed on my poet parched lips always
