the order of snakes

Post by revolutionrabbit » May 9th, 2013, 2:33 am

I am a solitary stroller through the alleys of eternity
the dust of the ages settles in my brain
as I contemplate the lines that wiggle in my head
a looking well within reveal the depths of your wish
if a fish could follow a wandering star

each day I stumble through the residue of my dreams
I folding carpets in them
or the rug pulled out from under my under unconscious
like the magician pulling away the veil of illusion
only to use it to create it from our absurd conclusions

I belong to the order of snakes
not like the one that slides through the cool grass
to the creepy underbelly that slithers
I saunter hither and tither
who knows whither I go

I am just a speck on the spectacle of words
a mere smear on the window of the world
a cathedral at the end of history
holding up the light to the darkness
you can follow my travels through the stained glass
through the great empty void and beyond

past the judgements of the grand inquisitors
past the floating bums of stolen enlightenment

Ulysses, I am seventy two years old and I am starting to wonder when I am going to Man up and read that Novel

but in the meantime thank you very much for the poem 8)

People usually think of "man up" as some macho thing
like strapping on weapons or puffing up your chest
and like John Wayne in Sands of Iwo Jima. I was a draft
evading wimpy tree hugging fop. :?

i love tree hugging- and this poem- delicate and fragile and beautiful and pleenty of john- -i never liked him- he was a whiskey drinking horse voiced dude that made my father feel inadequate- i dont get it- or the 'threw a ball like a girl thing' but i am pretty buff :!: these days- too many muscles to write i guess- - sunshine - rivers and the great outdoors- trying to match my ability to get there with actully being able to see it-

creativesoul, thanks for the creative thoughts, buff sounds good
what a wonderful picture, like your soul.I'm feeling delicate
and fragile, but the poet in me roughs it for my soul.

Not me I was a real live nephew of my Uncle Sam born in a shtetl in Poland. A first generation American I tried to enlist after the Gulf of Tonkin non-incident. I was eager to do my patriotic chores just like all the kids that signed up after September 11th, but my uncle sam would not have me just because I used to fall asleep with a shotgun tucked up under my chin. I was mentally unfit for military service

fine expression- if i could drink with out wanting to blow up the dams on the rivers- or get leonard out of jail- [peltier] but if i could- i would have one to celebrate the diversity of all the great ideas in the midst of this write- peace-yeah that is why i advocate for peace- i think john was an unhappy closeted man- but i know that finding love is deeper than the seas- i am still happy in spite of my thinking-
as you are
