cosmic nob

Post by revolutionR » August 9th, 2014, 4:48 am

the music is playing with the radio on
at the very least we hear the sounds
in the background playing to the noise
that keeps us from hearing ourselves
the music fills the current void
that we should listen to things in themselves
like water running through a mirror tube
shadows of silences firing up colors of night
when the whispered words float in space
keeping the fingers tapping on the surfaces
of things, like letters on a white board
I tap out the word jazz and jazz comes on
the next song that changed my mood
like mood in blue or melody in green
I can never turn the music off any more
then I can turn off the cosmic nob

i heard eternity in an alto sax
it said
don't be afraaaaaaaid!
it said
damn!
it said
bop keep bopping ever always!

i heard the universe spill out
of guitar strings
and i almost missed it
without this
"From the sudden invasion of a mind not my own in the world. This I will record. For whom? For m y s e l f, beyond denial and beyond indifference." - Philip Lamantia
