sowebohemian redux

Post by WIREMAN » October 12th, 2014, 8:12 pm

laughter in the hall
only footsteps from
the past before the
carpet was laid
or was that sound
an echo from before
you were there
that night it rained
isolated, crowd rushing
the stage while I snored
in peace above wet streets
silence kicked the ball
of confusion on that
still bohemian morn
i awoke before sunrise
only me & the rats
knowing the beauty
beneath the blue light
hollins market dawn
me I feel like I'm becoming some kinda Kung fu t.v. Priest.....

Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.

blue light cameras
r supposed to give
residents a sense
of security in
high crime areas
of b'more.....i found
it made your friends
afraid to come over
and visit.....no blue
light cameras here
in historic frederick....
back then i spent my
time in what some
might call hell (if u ever
watch "the wire" much of it was
shot round my old neighborhood)
but theres a beauty on those
streets right before dawn
thats amazing.....just gots to keep
your head on a swivel though.... 8)

Enjoyed your sojourn. Also enjoy "geographic" poems. Hollins Market…you put me there with you and I like that.

aah yes...sowebo, more than just a festival....also the mean streets that teem with poverty and her handmaidens ....urban life in the city.....did a lot of rehabs in these neighborhoods, taught me a lot about how folks can be creative in order to survive.....not always criminal as many would suspect....learned that many can figure out ways to adapt without the bitterness of sour grapes.....but there are rules...and it's important to learn them....

the #1 rule is to mind your own damn bizness.....never call the cops on your neighbor....dont leave anything visible in your car.....in fact keep it empty with the doors unlocked....dont stagger or wobble on the way home from the bar.....carry some cash in case you get stuck up, might save yer ass......never flip someone off, big mistake......theres lots more, i survived in the hood for a long time....its possible.....of course i am a big construction worker....

nears as I remember, you covered it Mark.....there is an unwavering code on the streets that needs to be learned and adhered to....you gonna make the poetry reading at Dino's sister's house ?
