the cynicism that comes on mondays

Post by saw » February 13th, 2016, 11:48 am

is it more evolved
to ignore the suffering,
go about your routines
convince yourself the rote
is most important, should I
close my eyes when I walk
swing my robotic arms
to the ticks of the clock
like the organ grinder's
cute little assistant,
in a striped shirt with a fez
on the top like my facebook
friends, damn
seems to me if they were really my friends
they'd encourage me to speak my mind
they'd desire the verisimilitude
that oozes from the pores of a known quantity,
the candor of a soldier in the war
on denial, but I get no comments at all
on those days, not like when i post
a picture of the stir fry i had for lunch
so I cave in, pretend life is always fine
so as not to offend my "Friends "
that see it too, we are tacitly in cahoots,
complicit thespians that smile and wink
with the emoticons of modern existence
yes
we carve out a nice little life for ourselves
in the images of each other
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

An early morning poem: Still , with the thoughts of a raging , intellect coming to grips with a shade of reality, woven into a poem...... distilled into words..... way cool

is it more evolved ...

(the first line of your poem made me smile!)

to talk with some of your friends that are not your Facebook friends
(just because you don´t have Facebook)
it´s becoming during the last year an interesting experience to me:
you are a priori in a out of context (or at least co-text) status
everybody feels in the urge to "actualize" you as first reaction
but to try to explain verbally social nets interaction, to be a technology preacher or a cavernícola is not funny in the long term for anyone so...
if both sides manage to still be there after that & after seeing some photos...
(and none of them began to type or read in the cellphone for some reason in the following minute)
a fruitful gap somehow shows up ...!

Enjoyed, gracias!!!!!!! :D

Veronica, can I quote that last line of yours? 8) and saw, fuck 'em!
Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.
