perched

Post by saw » July 19th, 2016, 9:10 am

nothing quite like
a porch rocker
that hillbilly throne
if you buy the stereotype
but I'm an urban rocker
an old deadhead into the view
from my perch
Yes, I said perch, not porch
talkin' specifics here
the perch on the porch
or the porch-perch if you prefer
that special vantage point
where All can be seen
from a single point in time
in the motion of a body
and a mind in rhythm, perpetual
observation, past, present, future
a hairy eagle of ancient lore
perched
to draw a bead
perched
for the hunt for unsuspecting wisdom
ready to engage flying objects
the rocker rumbles,
the furniture and I are one
rockin' ...rumblin'
wood on wood, oak percussion
the tempo accelerates
with each new tidbit of sky
with each new foray of cosmic intervention....
and... I can no longer feel my feet
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.
