Leonard Cohen R.I.P.

"Everybody knows, everybody knows"

A great poet and singer, has passed from our midst
I remember listening to Leonard in 67'
his lyrics were just as potent to me as Dylan
yeah I listened to the Rolling Stones and the Beatles
and Hendrix and all the rest, but it was Leonard
that was always there in the quite moments
in the late night that really penetrated the veil
and let the deeper moments pass in some kind of
gypsy trance of the poet, and I was taken down
to the river of tea and oranges ....

I remember reading Leonard's poetry one day in the woods
in the early 70's when I was going through a lot because
of the draft, and I felt like his words were really talking to me
my wife Meryl bless her soul, really loved his music
she always found peace listening to him

no wonder he was into Zen Buddhism

he managed to make one last album right before he passed on
the world will miss him,"'Democracy is coming to the U.S.A."
