the more I know about government
the more I don't believe in it
having said that, I did what I had to
to get by, considering that to get out of the draft
forced me to go down a certain road
the side effect was that I became a poet
as a poet I have always thought like an anarchist
I thought like that when I was a teenager
it was intuitive, I thought like a rebel as a child
When my first grade teacher was teaching
racism in the class room, by telling a story
about how God cooked people like cookies
and the white ones came out just right
I never forgot that because I felt something was wrong
I was kicked out of a movie theater at twelve
because I did not stand to do the pledge of allegiance
I had paid to see two movies at the matinee
I was not in a class room, so I did not stand
I was not a little hood, I liked classical music
but I was a natural anarchist, and one day I would
be a poet, I think poets should know about the occult
should know what our leaders are doing behind the scene
and why and how they keep us dumbed down
and even if we can not change it, we have to resist it
if we don't we are nothing but brain dead flesh bots
on standard brand religion and pharmaceutical drugs
poetry is here to teach us how not to be ignorant
otherwise poetry is rendered to mere roses are red
poetry is anarchistic at heart, not there to praise
the dark forces that are behind our governments
the surrealists were subversive because they
turned language inside out, so the language
governments and religions used could be
seen in its true light, it was subversive because it saw
beauty in seeing things in a most unusual way
not to shock us but to allow us to see we have unlimited
points of view, which allows us to see reason beyond
what we are given to believe, beyond mind control
there is no getting around it, our leaders are corrupt
because they are controlled by blackmail and threats
by the secret forces behind government
and so our governments are not working for us
they are working against us, they have convinced us
that our mental slavery is a good thing
people in the late sixties were in the streets protesting
because they were against an evil war in Vietnam
and they wanted civil tights, now they don't know what
they are protesting for, is it for a woman president
that wanted to start a war that would destroy the planet
how did we get so far off track from those sixties years
remember that the revolution will not be televised
or will it happen on cell phones, the revolution has always
been happening and always will, it is the energy of who we
really are, it happens all at once when enough is enough
and poetry is a calling it calls to you because enough
is enough
'"free your mind and your ass will follow"
I
anarchist
Re: anarchist
Absolutely. Poetry is not here to suck up to anyone or anything. Poetry is here to call it like it sees it, to get beneath the surface and bluster-bombast bullshit.
Absolutely.
Absolutely.

Re: anarchist
I use to listen to Alan Watts a lot, I got the term from him,
"standard brand religion" I read a lot of poets, but I use to read a lot of philosophy too.
So a lot of the philosophy I read seeps into my poetry. But I listen to a lot of people on the internet that talk about what is going on in the world, and I have always been interested in all the ufo phenomenon, but I am still a Beat/surrealist at heart.
