coming full circle

last impressions, gasped out in reflection,
idle emotions, far too long off course,
down that river, never clearly explored,
washed far away, from the water's source

memories gathered, on this aging shore,
never waiting for, that perfect wave,
wading deeper, beyond that salty tow,
plunging down, to their deep blue grave

feelings falling, spread on a cold sea floor,
scattered thoughts, in the sands of time,
a plane of peace, 'neath this dark expanse,
that farmost place, from this world of mine

my surrender, close enough to feel the pull,
yet in the mind, not too close to pull away,
turning back, from a dark and dismal abysm,
heart and soul, reaching for the light of day

thoughts resurface, drifting upon a quite sea,
feelings swollen, with the moon-made tide,
emotional currents, across the straits of living,
old horizons, of my unknown voyage undenied

the dreams seem, to be slowly seeping back,
blood flowing, into some unoccupied space,
bitter sweetness, the tasting of lives left behind,
the dying exchanged, for more time in this place

thanks RR... truth is, it's the feelings from the past
couple of months, plus the news of a heart condition
noticed in my check up last week.

if I were to meditate, the heart rate goes from 60 down
to 45 in five minutes... then everyone gets excited and
says this and that, and ooooh's and hmmmm's...

we'll see what kind of sound effects they give on friday
when I get to see the heart doc.

till then, it's just a thing that makes ya go hmmmmm
