cosmic flashes

i crack the ice
with old teeth that have grown long,
the prurient crunch
of glass shards on the tongue...
and the vibrant reds
are the best thing that happened
some days,
i snap my jaw
like a ancient pit bull on a slab of beef
hanging in a joshua tree..
some ideas get tupperware
oxygen out
most are thrown in piles
stacks of words
tossed with little regard
cosmic flashes raw and bleeding
fragments in the jet stream
of other lives lived
without my knowledge
inked vomit,
transcendental ore...
long nights in need of refining,
nuggets of one little mind
entangled in unlocked vaults,
haystacks of possibilities
looking for needles of love
