the journey of the inch worm
moving his entire life along a branch

on a fallen tree
in search of a new world
he cannot imagine....bathe
in a sea of arcane brushstrokes
only known by lovers of art and focus

that comes when one is unafraid
to sit on a log
watching insects for hours
with no temptations
to give in to the voice in the head

I should be doing something

I should be getting wood and starting a fire. The wood is only a few feet out my front door but it's raining like hell again. So ... got the electric heater going in the room where I'm keying this. Inertia might win after all.

I like the sound of that.. but I really should be doing the things I know are not finished- and may never be- done.
But the joy — really nice.. I like the moon waking me up

that's just it jana, we will never be done...it's a bit of an american myth that reinforces these ideas that we need to always be working on something and it's that self imposed stress from listening to that voice that makes us unhappy....not saying it's bad to have goals....as long as some of them are to do nothing today...ha ha
