Confounded by indifference
the spell, the smell, the well
dug into deeper rock lain bare
longer than life itself … but!
it all was born of sense on fire;

Dupree ordered gates shut tight
as the air-borne flea circus
juggled the aromas of yesterday
not caring one iota of any hope
for gleaming future imaginings;

Betrayal must have reason to take
time to utter the sound – 'ut' - 'ter'
drawn in eclipses from beyond,
the comprehension of mind
whittles away at bark inlay...chipchip;

The sneeze captured in a moment
of seconds for the hungry mouths,
who have no jury to pass judgement
upon their willingness to scream at
...at...at those who chose to play dead;

Miracles were devised by necessity,
Solar Systems in the billions spin
in unison around the mysterious un-
known as sun, sol, spinning eternal
as soul could possibly comprehend;

Toss it all into a fable written in signs
that stare back at the reader and guffaw
bringing confusion to the other wise one
standing in the blackened shadows
chuckling… gleefully… as if living.
