Bob the plumber

Post by saw »

the plumber came today. So I took $1057 out of my savings account and gave it to him. He was here for 5 hours. The problem is that once I take money out it rarely goes back in. I mean never. I cannot bear to look to at my receipt. The breakdown may be too much for me. Maybe tomorrow I'll look at it .Maybe tomorrow I'll learn that the materials for this job was more money than I spent for my first car, and I will need to come to terms with that information. But it's unlikely I will be able to reconcile this. It's very hard to coexist in harmony sometimes when you know the truth.

Way back in the day, one of my fellow wage slaves at the office had a little catchphrase-- "I shoulda been a plumba" ... After I acquired a house of my own, I soon understood what he meant.

The line I've heard too much - "If you don't know how to do it... you pay for it."
