TRAVEL

Post by YABYUM » July 6th, 2005, 3:50 pm

when humans travel they see, meet, take pictures, and try to hold on to a moment.

Poet is a heavy word.

when poets travel what is different?

Nothing's different, probably.

Except maybe they write down words in lines that nobody but they can understand and call it poetry.

That's what I do, anyway.

Hi Ronnie.... great to see you! :)

Made it back ok? Where are you?

this probably sounds like a smart ayss answer, but I think poets needs a bigger first aid kit whn traveling, . Wwhy do people throw bricks at poets?. The truth hurts. I know I have thrown some bricks myself, a poet is patient I think, he hears what he is saying even if others do not, that is why I know I am no poet, I hardly ever know what I am saying. Some kind of aphasia I think

That poem you wrote to Firecracker about knowing the location of every crumb of happiness that fell through the cracks. Yeah man, or was it firsty, all you white boys look alike to me.

doreen, i am close enough to dip myself into my atlantic.

stilltrucking, i cant recall the bread poem you write about.
but you say that poets need a bigger first aid kit. thats fucking right on and i wonder if you could explain from experience?

if we as poets need a larger kit, that would mean (to me) that we get hurt more.

????????

my experience with jota, angry replies to his poems, obsidian words. I don't know what else I mean, I guess I am still thinking about the head butt, violence not second nature to me, thinking about thinkink with one's gut. if that makes any difference. On one level here I am burned out, almost too much fun today. A mini vacation. And on a burned out non abstract but concrete kind of thinking I think it is a good idea for everyone who is travelling these days and any days, there could be a psychic kind of pyschological intelectual kind of meaning in my first aid kit metaphor, I wonder how did he get that close to you, I have a feeling it had something to do with a saloon? Just curious. Hope I have answered your question. it is  for me to mix up poets and poems, right now I think of lilliehammers (not sure how he spelled it) marksman's poems, sometimes people disapear and reappear with different user names. I like that guys poetry a lot too. He makes women so beautiful.

when poets travel, they are not sitting comfortably watching TV, they are immersed, subterranean, underwater camera lensed, they move by sonar, they are incognito, imalgamated, they take on the characteristics of their environment, their collective unconscious is awaken, hidden memories highlighted, they write in a foreign language...
