Dissolution

Dissolution

Let the days fall softly
into nights, which will then
rise silently through dawns
where cycles come to end
inhaled by sleepy yawns.

Do not watch me dissipate
stop trying to hold on
just a habit need be broke
ashes blown, the fire's gone
you cannot feel or embrace smoke.

There is a greater need
for distance and time alone
to see there is no question why
we leave the places we've outgrown
without formal goodbye.

I just really love this Dixie.
Left me feeling quite tranquil.
It's full circle truth and beauty, perfectly toned.

I claim the name To Question
and trust for the one I am
that you’ll more know my honest
voice and mind-heart’s faithfulness
than were Your Respect my name.

Faith will accept argument
where faith exceeds mere belief
where faith incorporates life
(journey’s faith’s fidelity)
and questioned faith is respect

so long as stands commitment.
I claim the name Commitment
and trust for the who-you-are
I cannot love, respect you
more than name you To Question.
