Jealousia (A Dark Fairytale)

Jealousia (A Dark Fairytale)

In an enchanted kingdom by a black sea,
waves glistening like teardrops from a dark angel’s eyes
stood a fortress high on a cliff of ebony peaks
shining beneath a pale sun lighting purple skies.
Love’s light flourished in shadowed shades of black
every man that dwelled there knew life’s harmony.
It spilled out across black orchid fields
into bountiful, luscious valleys
soaring on the wings of the birds,
and hummed by the honey bee.
No one knew hunger
and hate was never known.
Love had been carefully planted
and now the crop was full grown.
The fields grew flowers of pink, purple and blue,
all the colors of a rainbow
mixed in a field of black grasses
where nature’s pleasures did grow.

The matriarch was a princess with dignity and grace
floating like mist in her black silk and lace.
Her heart was pure, she radiated serenity
dancing with faeries, her spirit roamed free.
She was smitten by a fair prince, he returned her love,
to their glory dark fairies sang from the towers above.
Neither knew another’s touch for they were spiritual mates
destined to love, their first kiss sealed their fate.
His name was Amiter, he protected her heart from pain.
Her name was Purity, her soul never shallow or vain.
Together dancing in the darkness with love’s light as a guide,
the secrets of life they shared with nothing to hide.

As a token of his undying affection
he carved an image with grace and perfection,
every line painstaking carved from precious stone,
this gift he placed before her royal throne.
A portrait of a dark man cut from black diamond shone
and from a ruby he had taxingly honed
a heart held in the statue’s hand flawless and pure.
With this gift his love did secure
a place forever and a day
in her heart rocking in the sway
of the oceans of infatuation’s tide.
This made his soul fill with pride.
They promised each other love’s unending bliss
and sealed it with a passionate kiss.

A lady named Jealousia traveled from afar.
Said she followed the night’s brightest star
to this beautiful kingdom by the dark sea
looking for happiness from love’s fruited tree.
The Princess Purity was a gracious host
promised her rest and with her shared a toast.
Jealousia promised her loyalty and devotion,
but her words were insincere, just wasted motion.
Jealousia grew animosity and blackness colored her soul
immediately destroying Purity became her shining goal.
Envy and pride dwelled within her treacherous heart,
the seeds of hate were planted right from the start.

As the days passed and the moon waxed and waned
jealousia contrived a plan evil and insane.
She met Amiter, her eyes were filled with lust.
He became her prize, have him she must.
Purity held Jealousia in her confidence
and gave her authority, duties to dispense .
The chambermaids and servants obeyed her words,
quickly the demands became mean and absurd.
They were use to kindness, honored for their care
but Jealousia had nothing good inside to share.
The Princess was oblivious because her heart was kind,
and this was the weakness that Jealousia mined
sitting back plotting, bidding her time.

In the courtyard fair as evening fell to night
sat Amiter waiting for Purity to share his delight.
Jealousia made a potion and of it Purity drank
and in her chamber into nightmare dreams she sank.
Jealousia cast a spell and in Purity’s likeness she was adorned,
went into the garden and loved him until morn.
She left him with a promise to always be true
then to Purity’s bed on treacherous feet she flew.

Purity woke up groggy her mind in a haze
this is when Jealousia trapped her in a wicked maze.
She said she had seen Amiter hold another close
in the beautiful garden as the morning sun arose.
Purity was broken and comfort her Jealousia did,
gave her more potion so her will Purity would bid.
Jealousia held her in her arms and kissed her pretty head,
and Purity’s anger by hurt and pain were fed.
Jealousia fondle her breast with a feather’s touch
kissed them gripping purity in her evil clutch.
They lay entwined drinking each other’s dew.
Quickly Purity’s will Jealousia slew.
She stroked and pleasured Purity to ecstasy throes.
Jealousia filled her mind with blackened woes,
as a final blow convinced her she loved her so.

That night Jealousia racked with anger’s rage
called Amiter to her chamber and there she did engage
him in conversation looking for lies,
and in Jealousia’s spell insanity’s demons cried.
She loved him hard and fast
bringing him to passion’s door,
then she promised to love him even more.
She took from beneath her pillow a sharpened knife
plunged it through his heart taking his life.
The dark fairies’ song faltered, silence filled the halls
when Purity lost her innocence and evil conquered all.
Jealousia was haughty, proud of her wicked deeds,
laughing as the flower gardens turned to weeds.
Purity sank into a broken hearted pit
the voices constantly reminded her of the evil she did commit.
She couldn’t take it and sorrow drew the knife
and beauty was lost when Purity took her life.

The kingdom fell into disarray,
serenity slipped away.
The beautiful darkness became a shadowed hell
and the subjects fell under Jealousia’s evil spell.
It spilled out across black orchid fields
and everything of beauty she did kill.
The birds no longer flew
with grace up in the sky,
and every truth became another white lie.
The hum of the honey bee became a sting,
and compassion was a song forbidden to sing.
Every one knew hunger
and hate was a heavy stone.
Love had been uprooted
and now it was never shown.
The fields grew brambles and sharp piercing thorns
and even the gentle beast were treated with scorn.
All the flowers colored like the rainbow
mixed in a field of black grasses faded
without love and blissful happiness
the people became cold and jaded.

Jealousia ruled and her injustice fueled the fears.
The rivers of sorrow filled by the dark fairies tears.
She danced with madness and the voices whispered in her ears.
She languished in misery drifting through the years.
Jealousia whitewashed the castle to hide the darkness within,
but she could not cover up the evil of jealousy’s sin.
She sat in the palace on the rotting throne
beneath the glaring whiteness where evil was known.
The statute was an eye sore
she couldn’t stand it anymore.
She demanded a craftsman come to her dark place.
The man was carved into a snake, the beauty was erased
The snake perpetually swallows the heart of ruby red
just a symbol that love was forever dead.
.She sank into a rage oblivious to everything
because of her the dark angels never sing,.
The fields grew over with thistles and vines
and the kingdom fell into a rotting decline.
The whiteness couldn’t hide the blackness of her heart
and let this be a lesson as we depart.
Jealousy and envy will grow a bitter crop
evil is evil and fills our souls drop by drop.

It's an epic. By definition. Tells a story. Also could be called a ballad.

Thanks for the post!

Enjoyed it!

Thanks you my friends and this one came hard. I spent two weeks writing the first draft and my computer caught a virus and I lost the whole poem, Took me weeks to remember and rewrite it. Yes I am very proud of it and the reversed symbolism , you know in the darcness love grew and everyone was happy and then jealousia came and white washed everything. Thank you for reading this it means a lot to me. "C'
