full punctuate the creature’s catholic dread—
watch pious, lest she screams
as nightmare-vested dreams
and deems it right to fight in offspring’s stead.

Nicely done. I was raised in Catholocism's 'fear of God' rather than love of God but rejected it as a youth, feeling both too bloated and still very hungry. Never would I pass it on to my little brood. But no matter, it's days are dwindling as are all fear based relgions. The only way is direct perception, which no pope, no matter how pious, nor preacher, no matter how good an orator can give. 'Be still and know that I am God.' That is, still the sensory perceptions that whip the mind into constant thought and block out the One beyond thought.
