little girls

Post by creativesoul » June 11th, 2006, 2:14 am

i remeber when
i saw with the eyes of a little girl
i spoke as if joy were attached to my shoes
dancing thru streets
i imagined were made for my future
i dreamed of a prince, a king, a marriage and children that i loved n adored me, there were dreams of happiness and kindness
and living happily ever after
tonight there is a nine year old and a 14 year old with pillows stuffed in thier pants prancing around in front of the full length mirrors and laughing
the fourteen year old was pulling her shirt down in between the bloods and the crips in the mall
my blackfeet sister took them to a movie and had to sit the the young girls down and say"those bad boys will chew you up and spit you out"
"you anit got the game to be playing of this sport"
you wanna be a tough girl?" or a princess?
mmmm
tough choice
I was watching my dream come true
while native american s graduated wrapped in pendelton blankets
it is a good thing thatmy childhood dreams did not come true
there would have been too many ballerinas and doctors and cheerleaders in this world.
but what about the kids in the next room?

The eyes of the young see so little and so much, and with such optimism. Without it, we wouldn't stand much of a chance.

"Baby Fuckers" perezoso I can't find the link to the poem on studio eight.

Too many times these days
The young girls' eyes grow old too soon
Childhoods stolen.

And do young girls still dream about being polyester brides, and solipsize themselves a groom.

Like your poem a lot CS. I was just a kid yesterday with a smile. Today I am a toothless old kid.

The question at the end adds a lot of punch, and the writing gives us much to think about.
