Full Moon Rant 10.07.06

Early this morning before sunrise I was sitting on my deck mentally reviewing all the shit going on with our one world and pessimism set in. I don't particularly enjoy the state of pessimism.... not many do, however -

According to Scott Ritter, the weapons inspector in Iraq prior to the war who declared "No WMD's", says at a rally (attended by Bohonato) the U.S. will begin bombing strikes on Iran... up to 2,000 targets.

Today North Korea just may send off another test missile for their own defenses (or should I say Kim's own defense?).

Our own son-of-a-bush has removed Habeas Corpus from the laws of our country... adding to a list longer than I care to know about, all under the guise of protecting our country... or his own doings.

The growing outcry of Iraqis against U.S. occupation being ignored by our war policies is further increasing outrage in the entire Muslim world. So the threat of another terrorist attack is imminent... one of these days. Add to that the fact they, the Muslims, are killing off their own. Is that a hoot?

In moments of what I feel as 'clarity' I can see nothing but utter chaos eventually taking over the world... at least the world that somehow pertains to us. And not exclusively the U.S., by the way.

I well imagine most leaders of countries around the globe are just as uneasy as I am, as you are and as we all are. There isn't a chance that there's anyone who doesn't feel the pressure of the world situation.

Let's not forget the environmental crisis. That is the one thing that definitely includes everyone worldwide. Nobody amongst us can escape the possible conditions of a drastic change in the world's weather. We can all talk about it... blah, blah, blah....

The U.S. political system is filled with bribery and corruption on a scale never before seen. The absolute trust we all once had is fraying and fraying rapidly. There is little trust in anything resembling material or financial security, unless you are a, not a lowly millionaire mind you, but nowadays you just don't count unless you have billions of dollars. Un-fucking-believable.

And so the leaders we choose just have more ability to add to their riches by subtracting dollars from our own wallets. It's pure theft. We know it... even if we logically deny it. But in our hearts we all know that the world that was is crumbling. And the future is unclear.

Since 1967 the population of America has increased 100 million! Just in the U.S. alone. Over Six Billion people inhabit our globe. Everyone of us has basic needs - food, shelter, health cares. You'd think someone in a so-called responsible position would at least suggest a solution to this crisis, other than ignoring it as if it doesn't exist. Why? Because we are all human beings. We all have common needs, common desires. Not many of us really want anything more than what is fair.

But reality is - who gives a fuck? With that attitude we are in trouble collectively. There will be no winners. That level of competion is limited. For all our lives, all of us now living on this planet, have chosen the win or lose game to play. If you lose you in the majority. Tough shit! You're in big company. The majority, the enormous majority, given that standard of winning or losing, are all losers. Imagine that.

No matter what our citizenship, our nationality, our culture, the majority of us are making life sweet for such a small percentage. Doesn't this make us all stooges for these few amongst us? These elite, no matter the level, have the power to send our children, oour loved-ones, our families and friends to war for them. To fight their battles so this elite can further improve their own lives. Medical breakthoughs, altho wonderful in one light, are reserved for the elite. Financial security is also reserved for the elite. Sanitary living conditions... for the elite. The list is long. The list continues to grow for all us 6 billion continue working for the elite.... the tiney percentage of us that in all reality at best may sympathize with us, but do very little in greatly assisting our condition. It would cost them a fraction of their elitism and that would endanger their own ego. We wouldn't want that would we?

Bullshit! If there is any truth to "the meek shall inherit the earth" that earth would be stripped of it's wealth and beauty by the time the meek inherit it.

In the meantime, let us be thankful if we can afford Now. It's all any of us really have anyway.

You can't get into heaven unless you can see with the eyes of a child. (Paraphrase of Husserl in the Phenomenology of Internal Time Consciousness.)

There is a twelve year old girl somewhere who is going to save the world. If she does not get raped and murdered first.

I listen to the children at play, they are my only hope.

I can live in despair and die in hope.

I am trying to enjoy the full moon before Rupert Murdoch turns it into a billboard.

I am not so much pessimistic these days as suicidal. Did you have a smoke this morning?
I think about you sometimes with your Bugler.
Me I am half way through a pack of Doral Lights this morning?
So don't listen to me. I wish I had your discipline.

I am trying to get started on my walk this morning. The closest thing I have to a Zen practice. I had to turn around and come home yesterday after only a half mile. I am sure glad I decided to wear long pants. I was feeling kind of sick when I left.

I think i am getting senile because I believe it will all work out okay.

I am pretty sure that feminism is the only revolution we need. TO many peckerheads running the world. Not that a woman can't be one too, hell look at Margarete Thatcher.

"I am trying to enjoy the full moon before Richard Murdoch turns it into a bill board."

Great line!

Pessimism comes and goes with me. Just the way it is. Yeah, had a couple of Buglers, (stop with the Doral's, man! They suck!), along with a couple of mugs of coffee. That moon shot was taken this a.m. before sunrise. But all them other words were from various thoughts running thru me head while sittin' in the silent night of my mind.

I did a little editing to the post above while your were replying.

I was up this morning at around 4 AM, it was a comfort to see the moon still there. But there were no clouds, the sky was clear. I should have been out the door six hours ago. Now it is probably too hot to walk.

Yeah I know about the pessimism but sometimes I am not sure if it is just my age. Is it the end of the world or just the end of my world...

Some people smoke for the pleasure. For me it is a death wish. It is perfectly legal. I picked up The Essential Rumi the other day. It fell open to a poem called Body Intelligence. I have a very stupid body.

Thanks for the photos, 8)

"I am pretty sure that feminism is the only revolution we need."

2 Forces - masculine/feminine

in the world of duality we all live within
the feminine side continues screaming out
for an equal share of balance with masculine

but as long as masculine refuses
to accept Nature's balance
we'll continue our half-assed lives

I just moved back to my old apartment, after only a month at my new place. Something was wrong there, and I just couldn't put my finger on it, that is, until I was unloading some of my desk drawers back home and I saw the moon break free of some wisps in the south. That was the problem. I had been hemmed in by condos and apartments-- urban living at its finest, yet virtually no horizon.... I do so miss my horizon when it goes away....

and... well said. It can be argued amongst all the losers who the "elite" really are, but other than that.... compelling stuff, Cecil.

Well, is a 'welcome home' due..? Glad you're back in a place where comfort commands, mnaz. You leos need your comfort, fo' sho'..! :)

Bitchin' about the elite is another way of expressing envy if the truth be known. But hell, there really are many beautiful losers... more than beautiful winners.
