The rate of exchange

Post by Doreen Peri » January 15th, 2007, 12:02 pm

The rate of exchange in an odd, negligible, unimportant,
nonviable, nondescript country as opposed to a country
which controls currency is probably nil.

The rate of exchange is important.

The rate of exchange is viable.
The rate of exchange is an entirely visible event.
The rate of exchange changes every moment,
circumvented by all possibilities, but

when the coins are tossed, the heads, the tails,
the various availabilities, the particular odds
analyzed, the means translated,
down on our
knees like begging
prayers,

down on our needs
like wheres and theres
and wherever we'd thought
it would end,

a goddamn diadem,
a mutual self-annihilating
value structure, the suction of such
could pull the possible variables
from an equation
quicker than
algebra can
decipher why.

and i don't know why.
i don't know how it happend.
i don't know the acceptable
exchange translation between

what i have
and what you want
and what you have
and what i want
and what is it, where is the metronome
going to take us?

how far can my heartbeat
complete yours? where is yours when i need
to hear it because i've lost the rhythm of myself
and why should i be stupid enough to depend
on such bedtrack support?

the rate of exchange is
negotiable.

the problem is
this fact is
not understood.

(a love metaphor) :)

give me more metaphor
the world is clearly lacking
and I am clearly liking
your form
it is not too rigid an undertaking
it flows and slips into my mind
like good poems should
like ships of wood
and planes off taking
gee Doreen
like, hey man
this is good!

forgive my bad metaphor
I'll trade two of mine
for one of yours

:P

two thumbs up for the metaphor
oh hell, lets make it four!
I used to walk with my head in the clouds but I kept getting struck by lightning!
Now my head twitches and I drool alot. Anonymouse

ok, imagine William Burroughs and Sylvia Plath
living in the same apartment.
she obsessively edits her work
and he cuts his up with the scissors
who collects the rent?
the rate of exchange is negligible:
she hides his needle and
he pulls her out of the oven
even is even

the rate of exchange is
the same as it's always been
what I'll do for you vs. what you'll do for me
but the currency is vague
we have pesos in pizza parlors today

If I lived with Burroughs
Lord knows,
I'd be insane. No, I couldn't.
If I had to hide his needles and dope,
You can be sure...
I wouldn't.

If I were Plath,
I'd have accepted my wrath
and ovened my head long ago.
But I'm still quite sane
(I'll make it easy and plain) ...

The going rate is
quid pro quo.

If you'd like an explanation
of that term, please check
your dictionary.

It's pay as you go.
(Nothing to the contrary)

if global warming is the portent of doom
then romantic cooling is even more ominous

you know the end is near
when moans turn into sighs
there is no light in the eyes
of the other, the other so dear

it doesn't take much to perceive this
when your skin is wincing under my touch
it doesn't take much, it doesn't take much
