Cracked Sonnet for Crazy Women

Cracked Sonnet for Crazy Women

how many times in my life
have I found myself living with a crazy woman? Several times.
so, I have to ask myself the question:
"am I just attracted to women who are crazy in the first place? or do I drive them there?"

This is a question almost too scary to ponder
I'm damned by either answer
if the mind is neither here nor yonder
what matter if she's a singer or a dancer?

madness is a sexy trait
the ups and downs, the love, the hate
the rampant pupils like hot tubs in the moon
the ebullience, the ready tears, the swoons

it takes good sense to be crazy, they say
oh yes, give me a crazy woman any day

(note on the LRodian Sonnet: the form bears no rhythmic or metric resemblance to the Spencerian or the Shakespearian or the Petrarchian sonnets.)

I'm pretty sure you drive them there.

But what do I know?

I'm nuts.

crazy women

i love being a bit insane
the passion the love
easily cornered , a little bit vain
i think perhaps the question is
what difference does it make
where you stand in an earthquake?
sometimes for me the best i can do is be real quiet
saying i love you
by body language and demonstration
if this is crazy
what is at stake?
being right or wrong or being fake?
the truth for me
it is plain to see
is beyond biology
crazy women
crazy men
best of love is still ahead
do your best
the rest is unsaid
a woman told me once that she stayed married for fifty years because when she got mad at her husband she weeded the garden. told me she has the nicest looking garden in the whole county
maybe her choice to do something posative with all that energy is what made everything beautiful

quiet woman
her face shadowed
by clouds of insane passion

mother, lover, sister, daughter, niece, cousin, friend, enemy,
women
Oh Uncle Sigmund
you was so wrong.

in my insanity
while i was giving the cat it s medicine
the thought crossed my mind
that if i drank the whole bottle
i could lay accross the bathroom florr and stare at the birds out the bathroom window
like the cat
but the truth is
people like me have already gone there
and in despair
got clean and sober
even when the kitty cat meds look good

i taught some little kids in an elementry school
today
because when you have already gone to the most sordid spaces on the planet
you represent hope to others
with out really meaning to
the truth is today
life is just to good
almost seven years since i saw the beasts flying in my room
not wanting me to sleep
i used the telephone to call people
that had previously gotten over "the creeps"

the school wants me to make a writers night for the kids to display
all the stuff inside
that gets in the way
puberty, sex, and the confusion of the mating call
includes being 12 and not really knowing anything at all
if insanity
is just a perspective a reaction
a fementation of thoughts in seclusion
perhaps it is I
that can relieve the delusion

ethonogenic dreams
I think the poets call it
I called it a drug crazed delusion.

But you know I was just making it up
cause it was more like the way the shadows of clouds move down a valley.

it was only insane once
but it was still such a quiet insanity
back in the day when me and spider woman were looking for the ultimate

hey she is long over it
and that abortion hurt her more than it did me

hey I said too much about it'
I sort of can relate to the cat medicine thing. I have always been addicted to the grind, but I ain't done nothing that my spirit it could kill. I know of at least one person back in the seventies that made a fatal mistake. I don't fool with that stuff no more. I am a nature boy these days,

geez CS sorry for the ramble
I been to the most sordid places in my mind
Hope is writting for me

thanks for writting
this a nice string by LR.
