Nuh uh, says God
Everybody thinks
they are the only one.
Then there's God.
Multitudes expect
to get it all for themselves.
Nuh uh, says God.
Azillion deaf ears
tune blaringly into selfs.
Even on Sunday!
We all do wrong,
and talk it into right.
But God knows this trick.
We question God,
to avoid our own heat.
And hell burns eternal.
they are the only one.
Then there's God.
Multitudes expect
to get it all for themselves.
Nuh uh, says God.
Azillion deaf ears
tune blaringly into selfs.
Even on Sunday!
We all do wrong,
and talk it into right.
But God knows this trick.
We question God,
to avoid our own heat.
And hell burns eternal.

"I am a victim of society, and, an entertainer"........DW
Yes Hes, God is beyond 'God,' no matter how much we argue about it, or how many boxes we try to throw at it, or around it. That's how I've always perceived it.
Yeah, and what gets me is all these folks trying to buy better seats in heaven by sucking up to their dogmas of choice, although it's almost humorous at times. Nuh uh, indeed!

You are a poet Hester. I could ramble for ten thousand words and not say it so well.
A R Ammons is a mighty fine poet too.

This is a great piece. I read it forwards and backwards, like below. I think it works either way.

we question God.

Everybody thinks.

PS: I think it was Lewis Goldfard who taught me that a true stream of con poem can read just as well in reverse, if you dig, by reversing one of mine, that in fact it has to read either way or it's not stream of con. Beauty stream of con, Hes.

Enjoyed the words, Hes'... good write, and a wee bit different for you, eh?
Thx to you both for the fine words.

Nazz... I know your perception is right on.Yes Hes, God is beyond 'God,' no matter how much we argue about it, or how many boxes we try to throw at it, or around it. That's how I've always perceived it.

Yeah, the "G" word, like the "G" man, is, uhm...
Different.
Who can agrue with that?
And why would anyone want to?
Peace,
Barry
PS: "G" man is a reference this guy, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G._I._Gurdjieff not gov't man.

I'm into whatever's different, judih. You know this about me, right? Because whatever's the same is just...the same. And who's into that? Not me.gee whiz, barry
you into mr. g?
True enough, Nazz, But think about it...when will all of us be "awake" at the same time? Never, as far as I can see, which is pretty far. Always there will be some of us sleeping. Always there will be some of us awake. And that's just fine how it is. If we were all always awake, well...that would just be sameness, wouldn't it? Even in a perfect, united, all-one-family world there would still be unrest and disorder, as is so in all families in all times everywhere. It's only a problem if you think it shouldn't be that way. It's only a problem if you think it's a problem.G Man, what a guy...
"Gurdjieff stated that maleficent events such as wars and so on could not possibly take place if people were more awake."
Peace,
Barry

"Azillion deaf ears

Tonight/tomorrow begins Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, when (most western) pew-ters in their late(!) Summer finery amble to the Synagogue to begin the ritual purging (taslich) of their past years' "sins" (wonder about Bernie whom madoff with the gelt?), only to return, again & again...(one definition of insanity is "repeating the same behavior expecting a different result!" H'H./H.e.m.

Hello Hester,
It's been awhile since I've read you.
Here goes what I can muster,
you say
I do do this thing you say,
especially on Sundays.
Why Sundays, I ask myself, I ask you
and I've no answer except that Sundays are the dying days
and by then I'm completely in a desperation to save myself,
I'm just a puddle, without resources left other than emotions.
I'd used any resources I'd had to survive the week.
I'm just a simple woman and daughter of Eve, I bit an apple,
on Sunday I've no realities left, just soul, soul dying and surviving it.
May bees why I begin my acceptance of the unacceptables after a week's worth of wanderings.
I should learn to eat a huge meal, then sleep the rest of the day away, as men seem to do. Men may have brilliant ideas of sleep
when resources are not handy.
I'm glad you wrote this, it reminded me of me.
