strange cocoon at the side of the road
wrapped in delight

I like this poem. The whole feel of the shared experience. I can relate to it. Although we had water and carrot sticks (and a couple of apples) Still I can relate.
I also liked Judih's response. Nicely done, Judih.

A three mile hump
Winding round creeks of coal
She examines his beauty
While aspiring to be
A fifth the poet he is
Hazed appreciations
Slightly drunken conversations
Reality swimming through our thoughts
Instead we will discuss tying knots
