Interview your artistic colleagues
i'm not wearing a hat at the moment.
it's only a façade of the real me!!!
i say let it flow
either way
ok
i already have some dialogue with both of them so i could make a post with quotes as reference, like at the end of a trail where the gingerbread house is.

Jim, I never took "bogus pomp" as derisive :)
Someone once told me that I sounded like a drunken opium jukebox. They meant it as derisive, but did I take it as derisive? Hah! Just like when a reviewer said of Tom Waits' Big Time "Piano teachers will be shocked," Tom took that as a good review
Say Jim, have you heard all of the downloads on the site? 'Cause I'm about to cycle them out with new ones

[quote="jimboloco"]I don't know if these are interviews as such, but mayby we could do them in looser format, like talking back and forth with spontaneous responses .....interactive, because we are on different worlds when we get flowing.[quote]
I think this is a great idea, Jim.
Maybe you could meet the person you want to interview in a chat program, like AIM or MSN Messenger.
Prepare a few questions in advance, but also let it flow like a conversation and go where it goes.
Then, copy the text from the chat and there you have it! Instant interview!
Looking forward to reading these!
Please post them in the Interview forum, ok? Thanks!

Oh geez Doreen, I am not that structured, for one, and also would like a dialogue that unfolds ritght thru this site, right here.
I have another little quote from Izveryboyan'z web page, a bit of youthful writing that shows a wonderful awakening, really"

I mean, why would I go to MSN when what we got here is wowsville, man?The dew wet road seemed to be crying upwards, towards the graying sky, and the faint steam that rose from it moaned in the fragile sunlight, dying behind the clouds. I trampled on along the quiet street, walking the beat of some ancient melody humming against my mind and trapped, just below the surface of my lips. My thoughts were bubbling with what this new town would bring me, and I was so elated that even the wieght of my bags that dragged against my back, and the pain in my feet from the three mile walk to where I was to rendez-vous in Moline, Illinois, didn't bother me. There, I would meet my pre-arranged ride who, along w/three others, would take me into Denver.
It was 1999 and I was young, and excited. Never before had I ventured out alone to explore the wonders of western civilization in it's prime. For long hard years had I been trapped and confined, a child at her mother's side never to depart from her. Now, here I was at the brink of exploration, tingling with joy and happiness abounding, excited, nervous, warm, cold, tired, energetic, a mass of oxymorons was I. It was on that day that I pleaded my allegiance to diaspora. A sworn attachtment to wild, nomadic nuance, life a swirling, whirling bit of nowhere and everywhere.. all the time. I was insane and burning w/it.

heh
ummm.... No shuddering was intended!
The shrug just meant, either way is fine. Doesn't matter really. Interviews are interviews, no matter how they're done.
I was only relaying how I originally envisioned them. No big deal.
This site is about its partipants. It's about making it into whatever you want it to be.
Thanks for wanting to participate in the interviews, Jimbo! Looking forward to reading yours with Panta and I hope someone comes forward to interview you, also.
If I find some time, I'd like to do that, myself.
Time, though, is the most valuable commodity and I'm struggling to find time to take a shower at the moment.
(and I need one. believe me)

Oh, Jim, you mentioned pulling up words for the songs -I don't think that the words for "BURN(!)" are on my site anywhere, so I thought I'd give 'em to you
"BURN(!)"
Enforcer Sue told Crowbird Jim,
said Come on Come on Come on in
I want you to go an' kill me a moon,
said Come on Come on Come on in
I want you to go an' kill me a moon,
shoot it on down an' bring it real soon
With a pretty little bullet,
with a pretty little grin
said Come on Come on Come on in
Black night, jus' right, blue light clean
Burn it up, Burn it up, like gasoline
Black knight, jus' right, blue light clean
Burn it up, Burn it up, like gasoline
I said BURN
Well Crowbird Jim told Enforcer Sue,
said Listen to me baby, lemme tell you what I'll do
I'm gonna get a moonbone an' bring it to you,
with a rattlesnake fang chain,
bringin' down the lead rain
Splashin' through the oilstain
and Dancin' in the grue.
Said listen to me baby, lemme tell it to you
Lemme Come on Come on Come on through,
I said Come on Come on Come on Sue
Firefight, jus' right, black light queen,
Burn it up, Burn it up, like gasoline
Firefight, jus' right, black light queen,
Burn it up, Burn it up, like gasoline
Said BURN
So Enforcer Sue told Crowbird Jim,
let's go back, go back, go back in
Let's start a war, said Come on in
Let's start a war, may the best man win

blue lights
black lights
and especially green
low light
green light
mysterious yet
one trusts.
the lyrics
with nicknames for
the big forces
that run us.
or maybe not, my first impresion.
so tell us about these lyrics, I mean, the artist need not explain, yet, some thoughts, please. mon.
i ainh't fighting no war, man,
like for helen of troy,
or chicagio girlie,
just lucky she likes old dudes like me!
Doreen is clean by now!
Her sweat from shuddering washed away
tranquil and sweet!

Well, I had the "burn it up, burn it up, like gasoline" bit in my head for a long time, and I knew I wanted to build a hard blues rock around it. I had created the character Enforcer Sue beforehand, a strong, willful, borderline dominatrix type, and created Crowbird Jim to court her.
I wrote it just as a nice groovy sexy blues rock song. It's a lot less ambitious than other Dream & Shadow Huntsman Group material, really.
The S&M undertones were entirely intentional.
I modeled that song after Captain Beefheart's "I'm Gonna Booglarize You Baby" (read a transcription of the lyrics here: http://beefheart.com/walker/lyrics/sk/i ... larize.htm ).
Often when writing a song, I'll model it after another song with similar theme and mood. As you can see by comparing the lyrics, the resulting song ends up being very little like the model it was based on, except maybe in theme. I just use the models as a foundation to build upon. That's really as close as I get to using any sort of "form."
(Other examples, "Blackhat Leatherboot Zombi Jamboree" is modeled after Beefheart's "Floppy Boot Stomp" and Tom Waits' "Filipino Box Spring Hog"; "Showdown" is modeled after Lewis Carroll's "Jabberwocky")
It didn't really come across through my cheap microphone, but I did some pretty cool stuff with the snare drum. I applied concepts that I picked up from playing hand-drums tribal style. Being very specific about where on the drumhead (or rim, which I also used) you strike, coaxing multiple notes from a single drum.
