I think this is a great idea, Jim.

Maybe you could meet the person you want to interview in a chat program, like AIM or MSN Messenger.

Prepare a few questions in advance, but also let it flow like a conversation and go where it goes.

Then, copy the text from the chat and there you have it! Instant interview!

Oh geez Doreen, I am not that structured, for one, and also would like a dialogue that unfolds ritght thru this site, right here.

I have another little quote from Izveryboyan'z web page, a bit of youthful writing that shows a wonderful awakening, really"

The dew wet road seemed to be crying upwards, towards the graying sky, and the faint steam that rose from it moaned in the fragile sunlight, dying behind the clouds. The shrug just meant, either way is fine. Doesn't matter really. Interviews are interviews, no matter how they're done.

I was only relaying how I originally envisioned them. No big deal.

This site is about its partipants. It's about making it into whatever you want it to be.

If I find some time, I'd like to do that, myself.

Time, though, is the most valuable commodity and I'm struggling to find time to take a shower at the moment.

Well, I had the "burn it up, burn it up, like gasoline" bit in my head for a long time, and I knew I wanted to build a hard blues rock around it. I had created the character Enforcer Sue beforehand, a strong, willful, borderline dominatrix type, and created Crowbird Jim to court her.
I wrote it just as a nice groovy sexy blues rock song. It's a lot less ambitious than other Dream & Shadow Huntsman Group material, really.
The S&M undertones were entirely intentional.

I modeled that song after Captain Beefheart's "I'm Gonna Booglarize You Baby" (read a transcription of the lyrics here: http://beefheart.com/walker/lyrics/sk/i ... larize.htm ).
Often when writing a song, I'll model it after another song with similar theme and mood. As you can see by comparing the lyrics, the resulting song ends up being very little like the model it was based on, except maybe in theme. I just use the models as a foundation to build upon. That's really as close as I get to using any sort of "form."
(Other examples, "Blackhat Leatherboot Zombi Jamboree" is modeled after Beefheart's "Floppy Boot Stomp" and Tom Waits' "Filipino Box Spring Hog"; "Showdown" is modeled after Lewis Carroll's "Jabberwocky")

It didn't really come across through my cheap microphone, but I did some pretty cool stuff with the snare drum. I applied concepts that I picked up from playing hand-drums tribal style. Being very specific about where on the drumhead (or rim, which I also used) you strike, coaxing multiple notes from a single drum.
