This post of yours deserves a serious read. Which I will do. Between you and e-dog I won't be bored with a hospital stay if that is in my future. Right now my mind is a joke and all I can do is ramble.
Ok
I learned to read from the Sunday comics. I can remember the first book I ever read. Little Dog Ready at Home.
Yes I remember the EC Comics, just add five years to your age in the 50's and you will know where I was. I started reading the first link and I was reminded of an issue about the firehouse where the pole that the fireman slid down was replaced by one with razor sharp edges. It was a revenge story. The guy wraps his arms around the pole and slides down. I was getting to the part about the psychiatrist and juvenile delinquents when I noticed the woman in one of the ads that was in the red bikini. Naturally I started thinking about pubescent masturbation fantasies. The earliest ones I can remember were about Nazi medical experiments.
Listen I could go on but I would just like to say yes lines on paper are powerful, but is that not what words are. Cuneiform and Egyptian pictographs. Got to go
Ramble more later

At least I have spell checked it in deference to those weary old eyes of yours. I think about all those sophomore English papers you have read.
I ignored the sentence fragments and passive voice cause I don’t like what Microsoft suggested as more better English
