Move on? It's just starting to get good!

:)

I don't recall ever defending torture, although I'm not certain you were equating that to my comments. Yet I still wonder why that second link with the interview?

Yes, KISS. Unfortunately, it is not a KISS situation. Elements might be, but not the whole schlomozz. Which was my point.

Moving on sounds good to me ... I'm not good at, nor interested in, debating. I'm not a "master debator" like Austin Powers. But that's just me.

Knip's comments are right ... whether I'm good at this or not, it is just beginning to get good.

You are correct knip, the torture part wasn't directed at you or any of your comments, but as support about what Cramer said, how Americans will eventually reject, and in fact have begun rejecting, certain acceptable Israel behaviors/ideals. And torture was one of those main ones. And that, btw, is the answer for why the second interview... the issue of legalized torture and the way people are feeling about that was why I posted that particular part.

Again, I have to reluctantly agree ... here I was working/replying with just the elements part - but even with those, it's plain to see how complicated it is. This would be the main reason why most of the time you'll see post and then step back. It's just so dang complicated.

However, in this case ... complicated or not, imo it needed to come out into the open. And who knows, maybe in the end - after it's all be hashed out - we'll all be KISS'ing over it.

Hell deb I forgot what this string was all about. Israel is on a path to destruction. Playing macabre games of tit for tat. Every Israeli soldier takes an oath at Masada "never again" So we have a Masada complex going on.

I got nothing to debate, no axe to grind. I can only appreciate the mind set in Israel. Our crusade in Iraq has made the situation worse for her. I remember Ike fondly. The 1956 Suez crisis, France and merry old England joining with Israel to attack Egypt and Ike made them back off. When will the United States stop demonizing the Palestinians? All roads in the Middle East lead through Palestine. What is the chance that the government of the United States will find another leader who will take a fair and balanced stand towards Palestine and Israel? Not likely.

This is a gut-twisting topic for me. It is hard for me to remain calm about this. If Israel won't grow up, I blame the United States for turning her into a spoiled brat.

Knip you have no idea how much I love Canada, it is my shining city on the hill. I watched the Simpsons episode where they sung the Canadian National Anthem. I can't remember Homer's words but it was "lets not sing a national anthem about war and nationalistic jingoism lets sing a beautiful national anthem" something like that.

I can't understand why Israel keeps doing the same thing over and over again and expects different results. Isn't that insanity? Has the whole country gone nuts like Germany in the Thirties or like the USA in the 21st century?

Sorry about the folks comment. So many dead relatives in death camps, in my lifetime knip. I try to remember that 17 million people died there and only six million were Jews.

s/t you can always say anything to me. Frankly, I didn't get the folks thing til you brought it up the 2nd time. Not a guilt thing, though. Funny that I was thinking about that just today - shoudl I feel guilt over my ancestors during WW II. I decided not to. I could elaborate as to why, but I think it's pretty obvious.

Good thread, although off-track. probably my fault.

knip listen to firsty, he has my number, you never know what weird tangents my mind runs to. What brought on the your folks comment was my stupidity I mistook your :) for a

My grandmother had so many Yartzeit candles going our house looked like a Catholic cathedral. I thought about you when I made the comment on the friendly fire incident in Afghanistan. I don’t want revenge for the USS Liberty. I want to take ammunition from the Nazi sons of bitches that use the cover up as another example of Jew treachery. And it might help the men who survived the attack to heal

I wish the hell us southern Canadians had lost the war in 1776. We would be so much better off today. This system we got is breaking down. The Electoral College has got to go. We need a popular vote.

The conspiracy theorist trying to tie Israel into the Iraq war. That war does have Jewish fingerprints on it. But they are American.

I am a life long democrat, I never liked Ike. But I wish he was here now. This American Empire is going to have a short arc. Canada is going to have to build a wall to keep us out when the sh*t hits the fan. I hope against hope that the 2006 elections will turn the tide.

There is no guilt for your ancestors or mine. I think I got off topic first.
